BUTI yoga
BUTI is a somatic movement practice that seamlessly fuses functional movement with cardio dance and multidimensional strength training. This practice challenges the body across all planes of motion while engaging all of the senses in a sweat dripping, beat driven journey like no other. This movement style is intuitive, creative and includes unique movement patterns that help the body avoid plateaus physically and emotionally. BUTI, in the Indian dialect Marathi, means the cure to something hidden or kept secret. Experience this practice and tap into the cure hidden within.
Originally from Metro Detroit, Katherine began practicing yoga regularly in 2017 to compliment her competitive figure skating career. She quickly became passionate about the mind-body-breath connection and spiritual roots of yoga. Upon moving to Key West in 2019, Katherine sought to deepen her own practice and knowledge of the spiritual teachings of yoga and completed her first 200 hour teacher training in early 2020. In a continuous effort to expand her practice, Katherine completed another 200 hour teacher training in 2022 with Yoga with Carson Academy, giving her the opportunity to learn from different teachers and the knowledge to teach Rocket yoga.
In 2021, Katherine completed her BUTI yoga teacher training. The moment the first beat dropped from the playlist in her first BUTI class, Katherine was in love. She quickly knew that BUTI was something she felt deeply connected to. Allowing music to get you out of your head and tap fully into the body; shaking and spiraling and allowing yourself to let go truly resonates with Katherine. She loves the beats driven aspect of BUTI and letting the music be the guide to the movement.
Katherine loves to teach and continues to learn. She spreads that love and knowledge wherever she travels.
