Known for holding space with gentle confidence, Matu is a teacher of Yoga, Tai Chi and Qigong. He is certified through the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi (IIQTC), HeartMind Bodywork and Raviana Kundalini Yoga. A member of the National Qigong Association (NQA), Matu has been a student of meditative and martial arts since 2000, but after several years of self-defense training, he decided to shift his focus more to the internal and healing arts, which still retain the practical uses of self-preservation with a broader scope of benefits and a more restorative, healing nature.
