My name is Kristina Barauskas and after receiving my BS degree in Psychology at Wayne State University, I stumbled upon an art teacher position at a private school in Detroit. I realized it was my calling after 4 years, I received my Masters of Art Education at Savannah College of Art and Design.
Teaching art and yoga have been my true calling. I love to see students light up when they have ideas and are inspired by what they are creating. I am continuously getting inspired by my students and their ideas myself!. It never gets old to see our youngest artist make works of art! Art and yoga and psychology are so interconnected and helpful in healing and understanding ourselves.I’m so grateful to be a part of so many young people’s artistic lives and look forward to working with our little yogi artists at the Barefoot and Free Yoga festival!

Class Offering One: Kids Art
Little yogis will have fun making art with me, as we draw from nature and our surrounding experience. Depending on ages in class, I will design my projects accordingly. I am flexible not just in yoga but as an art teacher.
Class Offering Two: Kids Yoga
Depending on interest, I can offer yoga for 4-8year olds as well as a 9-12 year old class. (Together or separately). We will move , stretch and explore yoga in a playful and fun way. I use music, games, dance, props and stories to make yoga fun and exciting for our littlest yogis!
How long have you been practicing? 21 years.
Interesting fact about yourself: I am 100% Lithuanian and very involved in my culture (folk dancing, Saturday school and Lithuanian Scouting).
