Africa Yoga Project believes through the practice of yoga and mindfulness empowerment, education and employability are not only dreams but also real possibility. Opportunity for youth, particularly young men was increasingly difficult after the 2007 Civil War in Kenya. AYP provided a space for those youth to gather, connect and eventually become yoga teachers. AYP now employs over 200 youth and has trained more than 500 yoga teachers. AYP provides community classes in 20 different African counties to more than 7000 people a month.
