Jennifer Troyer

During the fall of 2008, I experienced a strong urge to begin practicing yoga. After unsuccessfully arguing with myself (I don’t know what to do, everyone will be watching and judging me, etc.), I began attending class at a community gym. I had no inkling whatsoever that increasing my strength, flexibility, and self-acceptance would help catapult me down a path that would alter the course of my life.

The fall of 2010, Reiki found me via a library book. I’ve learned that, truly, you do not find Reiki; rather, it finds you when you are ready for it to enter your life. I began studying Reiki in January 2011 and completed the Usui Master level certification in August 2014. In early 2016 and again at the beginning of 2019, I received further training in the Holy Fire energy, which complements and enhances the Reiki energy. I am an affiliate member of The International Center for Reiki Training.

The principles of Reiki are “Today only, Do not anger, Do not worry. With thankfulness, work diligently. Be kind to others.”

Through practicing and receiving Reiki, I can assure you that Reiki is an invaluable technique to keep life energy strong and healthy. It has assisted with my son’s occasional mild tummy aches and clients dealing with agonizing grief. Food tastes better, plants grow more vigorously, and stressful situations are handled more easily with Reiki.

I see clients and teach Reiki classes in my Canton, Mich. home. During a session, clients lay on a massage table and remain fully clothed. The Reiki energy flows through my hands and into the person’s aura and body. After a Reiki session, people report feeling “realigned,” “centered,” and less anxious. I like to think of it as an extended savasana without the preceding asanas.
