I absolutely love sharing what I have learned, what I am currently practicing as well as the ideas my student present. My name is Jen Hayes, I am a yoga teacher and owner of Yoga State of Mind, Body & Soul. These two welcoming studios are located in East Lansing on the campus of MSU and the other in Okemos Michigan. Both YS locations provide a selection of Hot Vinyasa, slow flow, and light Vinyasa classes, Okemos also offers Spinning (group cycling). My passions are to share yogic tools for loving our best lives, building creative sequences, to continue to explore the world as a business owner and teacher. I am always craving fresh and interesting challenges and new ways of learning. The community that thrives at Yoga State has been growing over the past 14 years and has become a home away from home for many college students and an additional safe escape to locals. It is a pleasure to work hard, open my heart and learn from so many amazing students.
Class Offerings: Partner Yoga Workshop
A fun and curious workshop that will empower your breath, creativity, listening, and relationship skills. This can be a romantic partner, but more likely a new or long time friend, or any willing partner. We will explore the deepest connections starting with breath, heart beat, and senses. Moving forward to create a beautiful fluid vinyasa style partner sequence that will incorporate balance, strength, and trust. Finishing with some wonderful partner based stretches and rewarding pre-savasana releases. You will feel sensually invigorated and completely relaxed.
The Ashtanga yoga method is purposeful with strengthening postures. The key principles of the Pilates system are concentration, control, centering, precision, breath, and flow. Yoga strengthens the front body while Pilates strengthens the back body. Both disciplines focus on the core.
