Class Offerings: The Body as Instrument
This class will explore how strength, flexibility, and inner sensitivity can be evoked, experienced and refined by a proper orientation to a variety of yoga postures. Basic and refined asana techniques will fuse with deeper philosophical and artistic inquiries to help students explore and experience the capacity that the body, our first instrument, has to evoke transcendent states of being. learning techniques to “play” it with the care and skill that characterize true artistry. The festive and musical atmosphere of the Barefoot and Free weekend provides a perfect backdrop for learning techniques to “play” the compositions we call asanas with the care and skill that characterize true artistry.
