Dear Barefoot & Free supporter,
We are kindly asking for your support of the Together We Can, an emergency fund for local Yoga Teachers, Healers, and Massage Therapists. Your donation will be used to assist individuals in our local community who are experiencing financial hardships due to the impact of the coronavirus.
For our protection, Governor Whitmer issued the stay-at-home order on March 24th, which required all non-essential businesses to close. As a result, many hard working members of our community experienced an abrupt halt to their income, especially those who worked with clients in person and relied heavily on tips. Many of these workers are struggling to buy food and medicine and pay their bills and other expenses.
A group of donors has graciously provided initial funds for a monthly grant of $100 to those individuals that qualify, to buy essentials, like food and medicine. These funds will not duplicate existing government assistance which will take several weeks after the stay-at-home order was issued to arrive. By then many members of our community will already be behind on their bills. Unemployment benefits are only a portion of their income and many workers rely on every penny they earn to support themselves and their families. We are graciously asking for your heartfelt help to assist our neighbors during these difficult times.
If you are able, please send a check to Barefoot & Free with the memo: Together We Can and mail it to Barefoot & Free ℅: Beth James 24381 Rensselaer St.Oak Park, MI 48237 or donate electronically via PayPal to email@example.com or Venmo @barefootandfreeyoga.
